March 2023

March is always a very special month for me. As an Iranian, it marks the beginning of the new year and brings with it a sense of renewal and hope. This year, however, March was bittersweet. It marked both the Iranian new year and my anniversary, but it also brought with it the heartbreaking loss of my beloved cat, Lilly.

Saying goodbye to her was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. She was a loyal companion and a constant source of comfort for me. But I know that she is at peace now, and I will always cherish the memories we shared.

Despite this sadness, there were also moments of joy and excitement this month. I am now officially the programming chair at Propeller Gallery. It's a big responsibility, but I'm looking forward to bringing new ideas to the table and making scheduling smoother for everyone involved. I hope to invite more curators and outside artists to join us and showcase their work.

In addition to my new role at Propeller, I've been hard at work on my own art. I've been working on a large canvas for the past few weeks, making slow but steady progress. And just recently, I had a two-day show at Sahar Gallery where I sold one of my pieces. It was a wonderful feeling to have my art appreciated and to connect with other artists and art lovers.

Overall, March was a month of highs and lows. It reminded me of the cyclical nature of life and the importance of cherishing every moment we have. I am grateful for the new opportunities that have come my way and for the memories, I will always hold dear.
